History and Culture

CDK systematically introduces to the expert public current trends and research methods and results in cultural history, particularly in relation to religion, theology, sociology, political science and cultural anthropology. The project publishes original works by Czech authors and translations of significant foreign pieces. Discussions about the importance of culture and religion in the European environment are also part of the project.
In its research and publication activities, CDK cooperates with the History Department of the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University; The Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic; the Centre for Patristic, Medieval, and Renaissance Texts; the Czech Christian Academy; the Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University, and other academic and expert institutions.
The project outcomes are meant for the academic community in the Czech Republic, in particular humanities students, and for interdisciplinary communication among scientists.
